Juliette later notes the irony that Manon is the one of them who winds up getting shot. She's fiercely protective of her sister and does her best to protect her, even though Juliette is perfectly capable of handling herself too. Cool Big Sis: To Juliette in Above and Beyond. Action Girl: Manon is a recurring protagonist who has taken out scores of Nazis over the series. The Noodle Incident that Patterson performs after surviving that crash is what gets him noticed by the OSS and sets off his heroics. The plane is damaged and is going down as the player jumps out. In one of the player character's missions Patterson is piloting the plane dropping them in. Hero of Another Story: In Airborne he's this. Elites Are More Glamorous: He's a member of the 2nd Ranger Battalion. Chekhov's Skill: His training as an aeronautical engineer, mentioned in the briefing to the first level, comes into play to sabotage the V2's gyroscope in the penultimate. 
If it wasn't for his apparently subpar German (achieved a C- in German but argues he'd rather let bullets do the talking anyway), he would qualify for The Ace. Also very athletic and proficient with all kinds of firearms and explosives.
